Treasure Bull Test 2010-2011 Information For EntryLocationTreasure Bull Test bulls will be fed at the Broken O Ranch Feedlot located 10 miles West of Simms, Montana on Highway 21. ScheduleReceiving dates: October 16-26 Sale: April 11, 2011 Eligibility for the testSpring bull division - For bulls born between December 15, 2009 – April 15, 2010 PreconditioningWe recommend starting your calves on some supplemental feed after taking weaning weights to incur less stress when they arrive at the test. Also give pre-conditioning shots We suggest you vaccinate for the following: Health & Brand InspectionsOut of state cattle are required to have a health certificate from your veterinarian and permit number obtained from the Montana Department of Livestock (406) 444-2976 prior to sending the bulls to Montana. If you are in a brand area, do have a brand inspection sent with your bulls! The test is located in Teton County, Montana. Genetic DefectsBulls with any genetic defects will not be accepted. If bull is a potential carrier, he must be tested free in order to be tested! Entry FeeWe require an entry fee of $200 when the bulls are sent to the test. We require another $200 on January 1, 2011 and $200 on March 1, 2011. The remainder of the expenses are withheld from the sale proceeds of the bulls at the sale. Registration Certificates/Performance DataRegistration papers, performance data and catalog information must be sent to us no later than January 15, 2011 in order for bulls to be in the sale catalog. Hard copy registration papers required on all bulls. We recommend sending bulls with a weaning ratio of 100 or higher. All ET bulls are considered to have a weaning ratio of 100. Weaning ratios must come from breed associations. Angus Single Shot Jackpot (for spring bulls only)Limited to 1 bull per breeder. The bull must be nominated at the time the bulls arrive at the test. Entry fee in the Jackpot division is $100. Treasure Bull Test matches the entire entry fee pot and it is divided between the top three bulls with 50% to the winner, 30% for second and 20% for third. Treasure Bull Test will also give awards. The winners are determined by using the weaning ratio for ¼, the yearling ratio for ¼ and the gain ratio for ½. Weaning ratio is limited to 110. SaleThe sale will be held at Western Livestock Auction, Great Falls, Montana on April 11, 2011. Approximately 75% of the bulls on test will be sold. Sale order will be determined by the Treasure Bull Test Index. It is 1/3 weaning ratio with a limit of 110, 1/3 gain ratio and 1/3 yearling ratio. All bulls sell according to their TBT index. Fall bulls will sell also by their Treasure Bull Test Index which is determined by their weaning ratio with a limit of 110 and their weight per day of age ratio.
